It’s been two weeks since Echo 88 managed to escape Willow Wood. What they hoped would be a quiet and relaxing Christmas break turns into a race against time filled with mystery, thrills, suspense, a little romance, and death.

Asher and Brett team up to investigate the hidden shuttlecraft and discover a secret message—one that might determine the fates of all the hybrids and one person in particular. Meanwhile, Cray’s roommate, Kyle, learns his younger brother was sold to human traffickers, and the race is on to save him with the help of a gang of hybrid hunters who call themselves the Red Eyes.

Xiao is receiving mysterious messages from Olivia, but how can that be? Her friend was killed six months earlier. She enlists the help of Jinx Spanders to see if Olivia is indeed back from the dead. Combining science with magic leads the duo to the place where Olivia was murdered.

Hoping he’s alive, Neon is searching for her long-lost brother, Tom, who was taken by the Hybrid Police when she was only five-years-old. Nittany volunteers to help Neon, not realizing that her younger brother, Flem, and his friends, all wearing enhanced superhero Halloween costumes, were hiding in the shadows, waiting for when Nittany and Neon need help from the “Battle Buddies.”

Meanwhile, two new hybrid cadets, Rory Muir from Scotland and Nathan Schumacher from Germany, are also involved with Akron Technologies—but not in a way anyone could have ever imagined. The two are mortal enemies, but must team up to save themselves.

A teen idol is determined to be a normal teenager for a change. Telling no one where he’s going, he changes his appearance and embarks into New York City to enjoy the Christmas season with a girl he met in a hotel lobby. If only Tabitha knew that the boy she met in the lobby was her celebrity crush, Mitch Kalon.
